Thank you for supporting R-Squared, a Religion and Race resource hub by the General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) of The United Methodist Church. Your support has helped GCORR in its work of challenging and equipping the church to complete its unfinished agenda of dismantling racial discrimination.

Your support has helped GCORR spread the message of antiracism in the following ways:

  • We published over 20 resources in 2022—including videos, infographics, small group curricula and worship resources. Our resources offer education and competency training for pastors and church leaders, and our resources help individuals on their antiracism journey.

  • We were able to monitor UMC jurisdictional conferences and rejoiced in seeing one of the most diverse slates of bishops elected in recent history.

  • We opened a new grant cycle of the CORR Action Fund. This cycle awarded up to $10,000 to each recipient to fund projects that increase intercultural competency and support vital conversations about race, cultural diversity, and systemic equity leading to action.

  • We hosted Facing the Future 2022 Virtual Conference. We were able to gather, support, encourage, and resource over 150 cross-racial/cross-cultural pastors and ministry leaders with this year’s theme of “Be Still as a Spiritual Practice.”

  • We provided training and collaboratively created resources with over 15 annual conferences to further antiracism and racial equity.

  • GCORR gathered with CCORRs (Conference Commissions on Religion and Race) to equip them to challenge, lead, and equip the people of The United Methodist Church to become interculturally competent, to ensure institutional equity and to facilitate vital conversations about religion, race, and culture.

  • Our board members gathered with Inter-Ethnic Strategy Development Group (IESDG) members and the racial-ethnic caucuses of the UMC, which offered a unique opportunity for board members and caucus leaders to discuss how to better partner with one another to advance the work of equity and antiracism in the church.

We cannot do this work without you. When you support GCORR, you become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ bringing freedom and love to create a better world.  We appreciate your commitment to racial equity. Your gifts to GCORR link your faith with those who believe that GCORR’s work is vitally necessary to the evolution and relevance of the church in the 21st century and beyond.

Here are a few ways you can help us:

  • Pray for the GCORR staff.

  • Share R-Squared resources with friends and colleagues who share a commitment to supporting racial justice work. You can also follow and share our social media content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

  • Donate to GCORR here. Donations are 100% tax deductible, and all donations made by December 31 can count towards your deductions for this year.

Your support will help us in 2023 as we begin working on an antiracism children’s curriculum,  record “Expanding the Table” podcast season two, host the Facing the Future 2023 conference in-person, continue to help annual conferences and jurisdictions strengthen institutional equity, continue resourcing the Philippines central conference as they establish CORRs, and continue anti-tribalism work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Thank you for your support as continue to champion diversity, equity and inclusion; develop interculturally competent leaders; and catalyze authentic community.
